The "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre Constanța invites the public to "The Abduction from the Seraglio"

The "Oleg Danovski" National Opera and Ballet Theatre Constanța continues the 2026–2027 season with one of the most well-known and beloved creations of the universal lyrical repertoire: "The Abduction from the Seraglio" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The show will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at 18:30, on the stage of "Regina Maria" National College of Arts in Constanța, in a performance that highlights the brilliant music of Mozart, vocal virtuosity, and the charm of a story in which love, freedom, and courage meet in an exotic universe.

"The Abduction from the Seraglio" follows Belmonte's attempt to rescue his beloved, Konstanze, and free those in captivity, on a journey where ingenuity and loyalty are put to the test. Composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, "The Abduction from the Seraglio" stands out for its melodic richness, passages of great virtuosity, and the contrast between energetic moments and those of profound sensitivity. The work offers soloists numerous opportunities to demonstrate their expressiveness and vocal mastery, while the music finely orchestrates the dramatic tension and the specific atmosphere of the story.

At the podium will be Tiberiu Dragoș Oprea, who will conduct the Orchestra and Choir of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre „Oleg Danovski” Constanța. The cast brings together acclaimed lyrical artists and performers of the new generation: Silvia Simionescu, Georgiana Medeleanu, Doru Iftene, Mădălin Băldău, Daniel Pascariu – Bucharest and Mircea Găvan - debut.

By presenting the opera „The Abduction from the Seraglio”, the National Opera and Ballet Theatre „Oleg Danovski” Constanța continues its mission to bring the great masterpieces of the universal lyrical repertoire to the public and to support, at the same time, the affirmation of new generations of artists.
