When old Tănase seems to be breathing his last, the family gathers under the same roof. But instead of tears, the house by the sea fills with intrigues, fragile alliances, complicated calculations and a mad dash for a winning lottery ticket.
Mr. Tănase's sons and their wives are ready to do anything for their own interests: Mugurel, the eldest son, responsible… but always under the pressure of his wife – meaning in a permanent state of "Yes, dear, you are right". Cora, his wife, ambitious, pragmatic and cynical, can turn any discussion into a secret plan to conquer the family fortune. Codruț, the youngest son, opportunistic and immature, comes up with "brilliant" ideas that almost always end in chaos, and Grațiela, his wife, elegant but superficial, is more concerned with appearances than reality… or the family's financial health.
And, for an extra touch of color, Stanka, the Bulgarian caregiver who seems to know more than she should, and the curious neighbor Kira, ready to turn any family discussion into a real spectacle of gossip and rumors, add the secret ingredient that transforms family tensions into… pure comedy.
Absurd situations follow one another rapidly, dialogues full of irony and small conflicts make nothing what it seems. Who is manipulating whom? What does each "grieved" smile hide? And who is preparing the most… delicious dessert?
