These are melodies that, from the very first notes, tell us that Christmas is approaching. And there are waltzes that make us dream, for a few moments, that the New Year finds us in Vienna.
A FAIRY TALE CHRISTMAS brings them together in a show-concert that begins in the Christmas atmosphere and gradually transforms into a brilliant New Year's celebration.
At the center of the show are Maia Morgenstern and Marius Bodochi, hosts of an evening where music and words meet with emotion, humor, and elegance. The two give voice to texts about love, memories, the joy of being together, and the hope of a new beginning, leading the audience from one universe to another.
Alongside them, soprano Arlinda Morava, baritone Cezar Ionescu and Moldavia Symphony Orchestra amplify a musical journey that spans epochs and styles.
The first part belongs to Christmas.
From the orchestral exuberance of Leroy Anderson to the iconic holiday tunes by Irving Berlin, David Foster, or Mariah Carey, the orchestra and two solo voices bring to the stage that blend of emotion and joy we expect every December. Solo moments and duets complete a repertoire where classical music meets the great international Christmas songs.
Then, the atmosphere begins to transform.
The refinement of Arcangelo Corelli and the magical universe of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky pave the way to another world.
The waltzes and polkas of the Strauss family bring the elegance and exuberance of the grand New Year's concerts. The tempo increases, the orchestra gains a new energy, and the entire evening heads towards one of the most beloved finales in Viennese music: The Radetzky March.
Moldavia Symphony Orchestra, founded by musicians Radu Cotoman and Emerich Ghercă, brings together experienced instrumentalists on the Iași lyrical and symphonic stage, in a formation capable of moving from the refinement of classical repertoire to the energy of contemporary music.
Arlinda Morava and Cezar Ionescu complete the universe of the show through two voices and two distinct artistic personalities, in solo moments and duets that traverse the atmosphere of Christmas and the elegance of holiday repertoire.
But A FAIRY TALE CHRISTMAS is not just a concert.
It is the meeting between the personality of two great actors, two solo voices and the power of a symphony orchestra. It is an evening that changes its rhythm and atmosphere with the music: from the warmth of Christmas to the elegance of the waltz, from emotion to humor, from intimacy to the exuberance of the New Year.
