Valentin Sanfira – The authentic voice of Gorj folklore!
Valentin Sanfira is a folk music artist from Gorj county, known for his powerful voice and emotional interpretations that convey the tradition and authentic longing of Romanian folklore.
At the age of 32, he has managed to become one of the most appreciated soloists of his generation, being a constant presence on national stages and a symbol of traditional music from Oltenia, in the concert at the Palace Hall, on November 24, 2024
Valentin Sanfira graduated from the "C-tin Brăiloiu" Music and Fine Arts High School in Târgu Jiu, in the folk singing section. In 2008, he won the first prize at the National Folk Song Festival "Mamaia", a moment that marked his official debut in folk music. Subsequently, he joined the "Doina Gorjului" Professional Folk Ensemble, where he evolved constantly, gaining the appreciation of the public and critics.
To date, Valentin has recorded over 120 of his own songs and has obtained over 20 diplomas at national festivals. Among his best-known songs are "Din copilul de la țară" (From the child from the countryside), "Când două inimi se unesc" (When two hearts unite), "Omule ce ești pe lume" (Man, what are you in the world) and "M-ați doborât din picioare" (You knocked me down). In May 2024, he released a new album entitled "Când două inimi se unesc" (When two hearts unite), accompanied by an eponymous video clip, which was well received by fans and gathered thousands of views on YouTube.
In addition to his musical career, Valentin Sanfira was also the presenter of the culinary show "My mother cooks better" on Prima TV. In 2024, together with his wife, Codruța Filip, he initiated a project dedicated to promoting Romanian folklore, through which they want to bring back to attention the traditions and folk costumes from different areas of the country.
